Mountaineering is in off-piste snowboarding

Retrieved from number 10 of "The Boots", deserve special mention:

historic ruling of CAI: the climbing is on the table

A snowboard mountaineering instructor for the course was launched by the National schools of mountaineering and ski touring in the CAI. Initiative, which represents an unprecedented recognition of the validity of a tool increasingly common on the slopes and off piste, give notice that I boot stating the course instructor will form a figure similar to that of the regional instructor Ski Mountaineering (ISA) with the difference that in the descent phase of the skis are replaced by the renowned "table", while the rising phase are mainly used snowshoes.

The preparation of the instructor and snowboard mountaineering (ISBA) will therefore be that of a full mountaineer, used to move on any terrain from snow, ice, rock, capable of dealing with local tours and mountaineering ski slopes, conduct a group and get safely on the piste with the snowboard. The course will take place in 2007 between February and September and is divided into five modules: 1) snow and avalanches in February, 2) technical descent FISI March 3 in) rise and fall in high mountains in April, 4) ice in June, 5) Rock in September.
